Faces

Looking for faces…

Brush

Brush over a number plate, an ID number, a name or a screen to hide it. Unhide brings back what you brush over.

Look

Either way, what is hidden can't be brought back from the saved photo.

The copy is saved without the place the photo was taken.

How to use it

  1. Choose a photo: faces are found and hidden at once.

  2. Brush over a number plate, an ID number or a screen to hide it too.

  3. Save the copy: hidden for good, and without its location.

Hidden for good

A light blur can sometimes be read back. ChobiKit covers each area with large blocks, or a heavy blur, and adds noise, so nothing can be brought back from the saved copy. The photo on your phone stays as it was.

Group photos

The face finder looks at the whole photo and at it in parts, so small faces at the back are found too. If one is missed, brush over it.

Before you post

Photos of children, ID cards and car number plates are easy to misuse. Hide what others shouldn't see, then share.

Frequently asked questions

How do I blur a face in a photo?

Choose the photo: faces are found and hidden at once. Pick Blocks or Blur for the look, then press Blur and save.

How do I blur a number plate or an ID number?

Choose Hide under Brush and brush over it. Unhide brings back anything you brushed over by mistake.

Can the blur be taken off later?

Not from the saved copy: the area is replaced by large blocks or a heavy blur with noise, which keeps none of the original detail.

Does it remove the photo's location?

Yes. The copy is saved without the place the photo was taken, or any other camera data.

What if a face isn't found?

Brush over it with Hide. The finder is made for faces looking towards the camera; a face in profile, or a tiny one, may be missed.

Which formats can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and AVIF, up to 20 MB. The copy is saved as JPG, PNG or WebP, the photo's own format where it can be.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Faces are found and hidden in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. It is free, with no sign-up.
