Taking a good photo
Lay the page on a dark table, with all four corners in the photo, in good light and without your phone's shadow on it. Hold the phone over the page rather than at a steep angle: the scanner straightens it, but a page seen from far to the side loses detail.
Scan, Colour or Black and white
Scan makes the paper white and the writing crisp, as a scanner would: the usual choice for forms. Colour keeps colours, such as a photo or a seal, and only evens the light. Black and white gives the smallest files.
For application forms
Many forms ask for an NID, a certificate or a marksheet as a JPG under a limit in KB. Type that limit and the scan is saved at the best quality under it. For several pages, add each one and save a single PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I scan a document with my phone?
Choose a photo of the page, or take one: its corners are found and the page straightened. Pick Scan, then press Save scan.
How do I scan my NID for an application form?
Photograph the card on a dark table, choose the photo, and type the form's KB limit before saving. The scan is saved as a JPG under it.
Can I make one PDF from several pages?
Yes. Choose PDF, then press Add this page and scan another for each page, and Make the PDF at the end. Each page goes on an A4 page.
The corners are wrong. What do I do?
Drag each corner onto the page's corner, or pick a corner and move it with the arrow buttons. Whole photo uses the photo as it is.
Which look should I use?
Scan for most forms, Colour when the page has a photo or a coloured seal, and Black and white for the smallest file.
Is my document uploaded?
