Crop image into circle
Crop to a square, 4:3, 16:9 or any shape you draw. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
Choose an image.
Pick an aspect ratio, then drag the box or its handles.
Download the cropped image.
Where round pictures are used
- Profile pictures for websites, forums and email, where you want the round shape yourself.
- Team pages and speaker lists with matching round photos.
- Logos and icons on slides and documents.
- Stickers and badges for chat apps, cut round from a photo or a drawing.
Transparent around the circle
The corners outside the circle are see-through, so the round picture sits on any colour. That needs PNG (or WebP from a WebP photo): JPG has no transparency and would fill the corners white.
Getting a good circle
- The box stays square, so the circle is never squashed into an oval.
- Drag the box to centre the face; drag a corner to make it bigger or smaller.
- Leave a little space above the head: a circle trims the corners of a square.
- For a square at an exact size first, resize the photo, then crop it here.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop an image into a circle?
Choose your photo: Circle is already picked. Move and size the round box over the part you want, press Crop and download the PNG.
Will the background be transparent?
Yes: everything outside the circle is transparent, so the picture sits on any background. It is saved as PNG, or WebP if the photo was WebP.
Can I get a circle on white instead?
Place the PNG on a white page, or crop to a square with 1:1 if the site makes it round by itself, as most profile pictures do.
Why is my circle an oval?
It can't be here: the box keeps a square shape, so the circle stays round. Some apps stretch pictures when they display them.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It is cropped in your browser and never sent to a server. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
