What WhatsApp asks for
WhatsApp's help pages give one number for profile photos: at least 192 by 192 pixels, so it doesn't look blurry. WhatsApp crops every profile photo to a square and shows it in a circle. This page makes a 640x640 square, well above that minimum and quick to upload.

A whole group or a wide photo as your DP
- A family or group photo keeps everyone, instead of only the people in the middle.
- A wide photo of a place or an event keeps its edges.
- A logo or poster for a business account stays whole.
Tips for a good DP
- In the circle the very corners of the square are hidden: a photo with space around it looks best.
- A blurred border matches the photo; white or black works for logos.
- Set it in WhatsApp under Settings, then your profile photo, then choose the downloaded picture and keep the whole square.
Frequently asked questions
How do I set a WhatsApp DP without cropping?
Choose your photo here: Whole photo is already picked. Press Resize and download the 640x640 square, then set it as your profile photo in WhatsApp. It is already square, so there is nothing left to crop.
What size is a WhatsApp DP?
WhatsApp asks for at least 192 by 192 pixels and shows the photo in a circle. Any square above that works; this page makes 640x640.
Will the circle cut off my photo?
Only the square's very corners, which are border. The photo itself sits inside, so faces near the edge of a wide photo stay visible.
Can I use this for a WhatsApp Business logo?
Yes. Choose White or Black as the border so the logo sits on a plain colour.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It is resized in your browser and never sent to a server, not even to the site you are posting to until you upload it there yourself. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
