Where 800x800 is used

  • Product photos where shoppers look at the details.
  • Square images on web pages that are shown large on wide screens.
  • Artwork, covers and logos that need clean edges.

Tips for 800x800

  • Use a photo at least 800 pixels on its short side, so nothing is enlarged.
  • Good light matters more than size: a dark, grainy photo stays grainy.
  • A white or plain background makes products stand out and keeps the file smaller.
  • Check the edges of the box: a product cut off at a corner looks careless.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to 800x800?

Choose your image, move the box over the part you want to keep, and press Resize. The result is exactly 800 by 800 pixels, ready to download.

Will my image be stretched or squashed?

No. The box has the shape of 800x800, so the part you keep is only made larger or smaller, never pulled out of shape. Whatever is outside the box is cut off.

Why choose 800x800 over a smaller square?

It shows more detail when the image is shown large or zoomed in, while the file stays small: about 140 KB as JPG for a detailed photo in our test.

What if my image is smaller than 800x800?

It is enlarged to 800x800, which can make it look a little soft, and ChobiKit tells you before you resize. A larger box, or a larger original, keeps it sharper.

Can I resize to 800x800 without cropping?

Only if your image already has the same shape: then the box covers all of it. Otherwise use the image resizer, which keeps the whole picture in its own shape, so one side won't match 800x800.

Is my image uploaded?

No. It is cropped and resized in your browser and never sent to a server. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
