Tips for 1280x720
- Turn the phone sideways when you take the photo: an upright photo keeps less than half its height in a wide box.
- Leave room at one side if you'll add a title later.
- Keep faces in the upper third, so a play button or caption doesn't cover them.
- A detailed photo comes to about 160 KB as JPG, easy to upload.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to 1280x720?
Choose your image, move the box over the part you want to keep, and press Resize. The result is exactly 1280 by 720 pixels, ready to download.
Will my image be stretched or squashed?
No. The box has the shape of 1280x720, so the part you keep is only made larger or smaller, never pulled out of shape. Whatever is outside the box is cut off.
Is 1280x720 the same as 720p?
Yes. 720p means 720 pixels high and, in the usual wide 16:9 shape, 1280 pixels wide. It is often called HD.
What if my image is smaller than 1280x720?
It is enlarged to 1280x720, which can make it look a little soft, and ChobiKit tells you before you resize. A larger box, or a larger original, keeps it sharper.
Can I resize to 1280x720 without cropping?
Only if your image already has the same shape: then the box covers all of it. Otherwise use the image resizer, which keeps the whole picture in its own shape, so one side won't match 1280x720.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is cropped and resized in your browser and never sent to a server. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
