Tips for 600x600
- Most photos are wider or taller than a square, so a quarter to a third of the picture is cut off: choose which part.
- Make the box larger first, then move it, to keep as much of the picture as you can.
- Keep important things away from the edges, as some sites round the corners.
- If a site also sets a KB limit, compress the result afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to 600x600?
Choose your image, move the box over the part you want to keep, and press Resize. The result is exactly 600 by 600 pixels, ready to download.
Will my image be stretched or squashed?
No. The box has the shape of 600x600, so the part you keep is only made larger or smaller, never pulled out of shape. Whatever is outside the box is cut off.
How many KB is a 600x600 image?
It depends on the picture: in our test, a detailed camera photo came to about 83 KB as JPG and a portrait to about 59 KB. To get under a set limit, use the compressor afterwards.
What if my image is smaller than 600x600?
It is enlarged to 600x600, which can make it look a little soft, and ChobiKit tells you before you resize. A larger box, or a larger original, keeps it sharper.
Can I resize to 600x600 without cropping?
Only if your image already has the same shape: then the box covers all of it. Otherwise use the image resizer, which keeps the whole picture in its own shape, so one side won't match 600x600.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is cropped and resized in your browser and never sent to a server. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
