Tips for 1920x1080

  • Start from a photo at least 1920 pixels wide; most phone photos taken sideways are.
  • A screenshot from a phone held upright is too narrow: it would be enlarged and look soft.
  • For a wallpaper, keep the main subject away from where icons and the taskbar sit.
  • A detailed Full HD photo is about 340 KB as JPG; compress it if a site sets a lower limit.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to 1920x1080?

Choose your image, move the box over the part you want to keep, and press Resize. The result is exactly 1920 by 1080 pixels, ready to download.

Will my image be stretched or squashed?

No. The box has the shape of 1920x1080, so the part you keep is only made larger or smaller, never pulled out of shape. Whatever is outside the box is cut off.

Is 1920x1080 the same as 1080p or Full HD?

Yes. Full HD, or 1080p, is 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high, in the wide 16:9 shape of most screens and TVs.

What if my image is smaller than 1920x1080?

It is enlarged to 1920x1080, which can make it look a little soft, and ChobiKit tells you before you resize. A larger box, or a larger original, keeps it sharper.

Can I resize to 1920x1080 without cropping?

Only if your image already has the same shape: then the box covers all of it. Otherwise use the image resizer, which keeps the whole picture in its own shape, so one side won't match 1920x1080.

Is my image uploaded?

No. It is cropped and resized in your browser and never sent to a server. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
